Not receiving items!

When I am logged in on the mobile app, i am not able to collect a delivery from say caspervend. I have been sent a redelivery and never got it because I had been logged on the mobile app when it came through, when I logged on my PC later, it is nowhere to be found, another item was a gift and I can not get a redelivery for these items, and was not able to contact anyone to get it delivered again. I've had this happen twice now and it it is very frustrating. Making me not want to use the mobile app.

Bridie Linden - per my re-test this appears to be resolved. Nice work folks!

Brian Aviator: thanks again for your help with the repro!

Hi All, this should be fixed now. Please keep in mind that you still won't be able to accept or view inventory on mobile, but once you logged in on desktop, you should be able to find the item in My Inventory. Give it a go and let me know!

Beanie Linden - I just re-executed my test steps and confirmed that the object is present in inventory and is no longer being lost. Thank you for the quick response and fix on this - nicely done!

I am having this same problem. I will have creators send me replacements, redeliveries, updates, etc. and I will see in the mobile app that it has been delivered. This is through many vendors, not just Casepervend. It makes me pause to use the app, because this creates tension between myself and creators. I don't want to bother them yet AGAIN when I don't recieve it. It's not their fault and they were being kind to help me. Thank you for taking the time to solve this issue.

Bridie Linden - I have some additional information on this. I did some testing today and noticed that inventory items offered from other avatars are received in inventory and are NOT lost. However, items offered by in-world objects (like Casepervend, update servers, notecard senders for magazines, etc.) ARE lost via this method. I can reliably reproduce with the following steps:
- Make sure your main avatar is not logged in.
- Logon to an alt, create an object called "Sender" and place an item in the objects inventory (just a block prim named "Object Test" will do). Add a script to the Sender object as follows (replace the placeholder with your main's avatar key):
default
{
touch_start(integer total_number)
{
llGiveInventory((key)"<Put your main avatar key here>", "Object Test");
llOwnerSay("Item sent to main");
}
}
- Click the sender object which will send the item to your main avatar.
- Logon as your main avatar using the mobile client. No notification is received. If you have offline notifications turned on you WILL receive a notification that the object was sent to you.
- Logoff from the mobile client.
- Logon to the desktop viewer as your main avatar.
- Check inventory - object is gone - it was not delivered, and the notification is lost.
I have observed this several times recently when receiving updates to things I have purchased or magazines sent to me in-world, etc. when I am offline and then subsequently logon to the mobile viewer before logging on via desktop.
Hope this helps!

Brian Aviator Thank you for the additional info!

Brian Aviator, Can you please explain this part more clearly:
- "Logon as your main avatar using the mobile client. No notification is received. " It is intended not to receive notifications while online. Did you mean chat? Yet we don't have object chat implemented either.
- "If you have offline notifications turned on" - all notifications or specific ones?
- "you WILL receive a notification that the object was sent to you " We currently don't have notifications from objects, can you screenshot what you receiving?
Brian Aviator
Beanie Linden - I apologize for not being clear. Regarding your three points above:
- Correct. I meant I didn't receive any notification of the inventory offer in the mobile client. I understand this isn't implemented yet, but I wanted to document I didn't receive it.
2.Regarding the "offline notifications" - I was certainly not clear with this wording. I am not referring to notifications in the mobile client. I am referring to the notification of offline IMs via email that can be toggled on the "Change Email Settings" of the Second Life web site. I am receiving that email notification indicating that the inventory item was offered. This is as expected and was included to document that this occurred.
- I was referring to the e-mail notification described in #2. above. I have included a screenshot, but I suspect it is not useful for this. I apologize for the confusion from my lack of clarity.
The main point of the repro instructions was to demonstrate that an object sent to someone from another object is lost if, 1) the avatar is offline at the time the object is sent, and 2) their next logon is via the mobile client.
Hope this helps.

I have had this happen several times as well. I have received offline notifications of items being given to me then logged on to the mobile viewer. When I later login to the desktop viewer I notice the items are gone. It appears the mobile viewer is dropping the acceptance of the items so that they become lost. I think it would be a lot “safer” to have the mobile viewer accepting all items given to us if the option to accept/decline isn’t being implemented in mobile. I have lost several items this way and this has made me leery of using the mobile viewer.
