First login attempt today. FS 80002. Was on with Linden SLua viewer earlier without any issues.

Sparkie Dragonash Like I mentioned to you on our Jira (Firestorm's) a couple weeks back, literally nothing at all has been touched regarding this on the viewer side by either LL or us at all recently (for months at this point). Any changes you are seeing between versions are completely placebo and unrelated to viewer changes. For example, the other week you said one nightly it has been working, then the next nightly you say it wasn't working, but the only change we did in nightly 79965 was literally a translation change in XML files.
Sparkie Dragonash
Hecklezz Resident Obviously it is not consistent. Something is happening in the code or how it is interpreted. From comments in chat it appears that I am not the only one with this issue. The last Beta in FS was almost 100% no block lists issue. Now, if it is helps, at this same time I quit getting offline notifications. Still am not getting them even though I have it checked. This Beta, 8000, it is working most of the time. Have had it fail once. After changing whatever in the nightlies after 9965 there was improvement. Still no offline notifications. No changes to my PC. All I have done is update, whitelist, log in. Right after log in I immediately check to see if I have my block list. If missing, I log out and back in until my block list loads. Since all this is server side, something has to be happening to block it. Maybe it's just a small glitch in the reading of the XML files. I haven't read the code. I know I am an old programmer from the PDP-11 Fortran, Assembler era then QC for major projects, but I am not that out of touch. Personally I think you need a lot more people who are experiencing this issue to report it. Somewhere something seems to be interfering with the handshake.

Sparkie Dragonash I am a developer for Firestorm and I can assure you with 100% certainty, nothing in the code has changed relating to this either from us or from LL for months, nothing at all. You can think there is all you want and say something is constantly changing in the code and something in X or Y nightly or beta changed it, but facts are facts and all the developers of Firestorm can confirm that there hasn't been. Any change you are seeing between viewer versions is purely coincidence.

Hecklezz Resident It could be Linden Lab thing. I am not privy to their code. I am not the only one experiencing this issue. I am just reporting it more often to try and help find the solution. After 60+ years in coding and QC I don't want to get into it anymore. Eaton-Kenway, Detroit Diesel, US States Army, Mary Kay, all warehouse and Inventory systems with guided vehicles. Development of the Automated Guided Vehicles for the first automated automobile assembly line, inventory management with our little machines that zipped all over and followed an embedded wire, first automated forklifts, etc. Harnischfeger (P&H) bought us out. I went to Peachtree Software where we wrote all the code and it was sold to the new Peachtree software. From there Primavera Project Management VA Medical Center brought in multibillion dollar project in under budget and early (by more than a year). Worked QC for MS and refused to pass co-pilot. After over 60 years, clearing the ground for more female coders, I pass the baton on to those like you who are passionate. The bug is somewhere. As I said, could be on Linden Labs side. They have been making changes. I'm just reporting on the last step... the testing. Oh, and I was one of the first to report that AI especially medical (Co-Pilot) was only 80.1% accurate. But, I bow to you Hecklezz, do what you do best. Good luck.

Sparkie Dragonash I was not saying this isn't a problem, or that it only effects you, it is 100% a problem and many people are effected by it, that wasn't in question. Nor was I questioning your experience in the industry yet you started making it all about that and telling me your life story and experiences.
Any changes that LL may have done would entirely be on the server side, nothing on the viewer side has been done, and no changes from LL have been pulled in to FS for over a month except 1 commit regarding animations freezing when the window gets too small or during the use of Ctrl+0.

Hecklezz ResidentI will not be drawn into a debate on Canny. I am only documenting what is happening in hopes that it will help find that little glitch that is annoying so many. Been down that road enough to know it isn't easy. However, Hecklezz, you have made comments that make it sound like I am the only one experiencing this and it isn't a FS issue. I'm sorry if I have misinterpreted your phrasing but it has to be documented either in Canny or JIRA for anyone to find the problem. It exists. You made it sound like I didn't know what I was talking about. Yeah, usually I keep my background to myself. Proud of my achievements. I can still recall the names we gave our AGVs when we created them and left them in the field. Put this behind and lets move forward and just let me help you find the problem. Do you want logs? I can forward them when it happens. Do you need keystroke data? I'll send that to you. Do you want logs of whitelisting? I can keep that. That's all I've been after. I was asked to document when it happens last April by Beq. I have been doing that. I have not accused FS or LL but both. It exists. Yes, you say no changes to code. Then looking at LL documentation over this time period states lot of changes to their viewer, what changes they made might provide the answer? I don't know. I don't want to get back into coding again. It's not about me. It's about the user experience. As Lee Iacocca told us, quality checks are everything, don't overlook anything. You are passionate about FS and that's good. Maybe you will be the one find the issue. Good luck.
What about Omnifilter? I see that was new added in the previous Beta when everything went sidewise on my end for the block list, chats etc. Still having issues, but with chat and block lists and offline notifications. I see it is also documented in the current Beta release notes. Could this have an effect on the resurgence of the block list, chat, notifications, issue?

> Yes, you say no changes to code. Then looking at LL documentation over this time period states lot of changes to their viewer, what changes they made might provide the answer
These are all to their development branches (in which there was a couple week gap during their Xmas holiday period), their latest release is still from 2nd of December, so any code changes on the viewer side they have made since then are not in effect in their Viewer unless you are running development builds right from their github (of which none have addressed this issue). Like I also said, none of these or any other changes have been brought into Firestorm for about a month now except 1 completely unrelated one, and every other commit Firestorm has made is also unrelated (mostly translation updates, some github action stuff by a bot, a couple crash fixes and our new Omnifilter feature).
We all want to fix this because it sucks for users effected by it, but given that LL have been unable to thus far for half a year, nor has anyone in the TPV community found the culprit or a fix yet, means it is not easy and it could entirely be a server-side problem on LL's end, no one knows yet.

Just updated to the Firestorm Beta 8000 and I do not have the issue so far but have only logged in twice since updating and whitelisting. This is a big improvement over the last Beta when I had the incident almost every single time I logged in using it.
Sparkie Dragonash
I had switched to the FS nightly versions to get away from this bug. That had given me some, but not all, relief. This did not happen as often with the nightlies between the beta and 9965. It is back in the FS nightly 9965. Whatever was changed in FS/SL triggered this to act up again. Yes, it is the SL Viewer now again with no block list sporadically. The only changes to my PC during this time? Updating the viewers.
Sparkie Dragonash
After updating to the Firestorm Beta after 7.2.2 I have had this incident occur almost every time I logged in with this version. Once I moved on to the nightly it became less frequent. It is definitely not fixed. If I go back and log in with the Beta, it will happen. I have not changed anything on my PC during this whole time except for the updating of Firestorm and the SL Viewer. No other changes have been made. Before this it had become intermittent but not gone. On the beta version it hits me pretty much every time I login. I am now using a nightly to avoid the issue.

Sparkie Dragonash it's been worse for me this past week or so. What is nightly, I can't take this anymore. it's been months.. 9 log ins later, and still cant get in right today.
Sparkie Dragonash
Tangwystyl Gwynneville Firestorm has nightly builds (testing before they make it to beta or release). Found on their main page under downloads > nightly.

Sparkie Dragonash Thank you, I may have to try that before I lose my mind lol. My poor friends list.
