In the latest ExtraFPS build ( 7.1.11.1156521274 ), most EEP settings are functional again, but for some reason the water normal map saved previously is still not being rendered, and is showing as "none" on the edit screen... Same EEP is rendered and displays correctly on 6.6.17 and 7.1.8.
While at it, it's nice to see the default tonemapper the same as it was before, however, having those settings at the "graphics preferences", seems like its on the same "boat" as using EEP settings applied by script, only works if "Use Shared Environment" is enabled, a mess of an experience (pun intended).
Please consider moving any non-performance environment related setting to the EEP edit screen and remove from Graphics Preferences, meaning the following settings:
  • Exposure.
  • Tone Mapper.
  • Tone Mapping Mix.
Brightness seems to me is the only one that makes sense to have at the graphics preferences screens (helps depending on the room where you play, monitor age, etc...)
You may not want to make too easy to screw it up, but you probably want to make easy to be creative.... moving those, would help to keep a standard experience, and provide all environment options (not related to performance) under one screen/editor (EEP Editor), would also make easier for anyone creating EEP's to make/create presets that others can reproduce easily and enjoy, right now we can't, it does not makes sense to tone map all scenes or change the exposure/mix on all scenes, but it may make sense to tweak a few, please allow the creator/owner to decide based on the scene itself (EEP), same goes with tone mapping mix and exposure.
Continue to keep the settings mentioned above at Graphics Preferences screen promotes confusing and messy experience.
