I noticed the new HDR Emissive option under the Graphics Preferences, when disabled, classic scenes do seem to get pretty close to 6.6.17, its nice and may easy forward the upgrade to the new viewer.
However, something also changed with lights handling/rendering when that option is "Enabled", probably unintended.
PBR scenes with lights (indoors and any outdoor daily scene), are much "brighter" compared to the behavior of DeltaFPS and ExtraFPS up to 7.1.11.11982653819, specially with PBR EEP's.
I'm attaching a few screenshots of my own scenes, but this is also noticeable in several places, specially "clubs" and "skyboxes" with lights (really noticeable if models are using Normal and Specular maps or PBR materials... most became just way too bright, the inverse happens in legacy (RPA = 0) scenes with no lights at all... HDR Emissive Enabled, no lights, classic scenes, much darker... )
While checking it, notice what happens to the avatar when wearing a skin with normal and specular maps.
Personally, I can easily try and tweak what I use (yet again), but you guys may consider changing it, there are thousands of skyboxes, clubs, avatars or scenes affected.
Same can be said to any EEP already published for PBR (they are all way too bright with HDR Emissive enabled, specially day or scenes with lights, or where the sky is set to "fantasy" colors, etc...).
PS.: I really wish we had an option to "sandbox" the viewer settings when installing different versions.
