That is a question, not a statement. You can not lose inventory because it is stored on the asset server linked to your account. Update sometime need a relog to trigger the data transfer of asset links.

I see your inventory. It is not lost. It just didn't download to your computer. Try logging in again and the inventory should load. If it does not, then clear your cache by opening the Me menu > Preferences > Advanced tab > Clear Cache button. Then click OK and relog.
