New "flat viewer" is WAY too aggressive on the object far plane when flying
Huns Valen
Even with auto adjustment on very permissive settings (desired framerate=1, avatars only) and bandwidth at 6,000 kbps, the new viewer doesn't like to render objects until I'm practically right on top of them (maybe 3 or so seconds away) while flying. I've got draw distance set to 280 meters (higher than usual) and it's still doing this. I can see far-away land just fine.
Once the objects are loaded, they will stay loaded unless I leave the area and come back (respecting draw distance), so this seems to be about the initial loading. (Edit: Nope, I'm seeing this even without leaving the sim. Flying through Bethel, I don't see the bridge until I'm within about 30 meters. In Rizal, the boat house doesn't show up until about the same distance as well.)
This is not a good experience for aircraft, and I don't think it's fun with boats either.

I've noticed this behavior on the Visual Polish project viewer as well. It seems that the moment the viewer senses that your framerate is dipping, it's response is to limit drawing objects to the extreme minimum. This leaves the world looking very empty and barren. As Huns said, reducing auto-adjust seems to make no difference.
I noticed this effect heavily in the new Copperfield Linden Homes regions, though not exclusively there.

Hi Huns,
Are you running the current beta, 26.2.0.24254827122?
Do you recall which viewer you were running when it looked better? For instance, does it work better on the current Release viewer 26.1.1.23806384790?
Here's a list of published viewers, if that helps, https://releasenotes.secondlife.com/categories/viewer.html

Yes: Second Life Release 26.2.0.24254827122 (64bit)
On a related note, the new hovertext font is pretty good.

Updated my post, I got it wrong the first time. This doesn't just happen when entering an area, you can see the effect even without leaving the sim.
