Silicon Apple: Mesh Physics Upload - Bugged
needs info
Charlotte Bartlett
Note this is in the SL viewer AS well as
Firestorm 7.2.4.80712 Release
Description
- Upload Mesh Screen
- Mesh selected, then in physics screen.
- Layout has changed (Analyze etc) if you select Solid and High Model - it is really slow to process (even with detailed logging off).
User documentation also still shows Havok and gives no guidance on how to use the new Section 2 for Hull etc.
Each time it eventually just times out making houses using surface physics unfeasible.
I tested with user created physics then also Step 2 physics. Both Firestorm and LL Viewers have issues in generation.
Secondary Bug:
If you use Section 2 and reset all items, the options in Section 2 stay greyed out so you can't make changes to test physic costs. You have to start the uploading from scratch again.

Can we get a copy of the mesh you're uploading? We weren't able to repro on our end.
Please send the mesh by email to bug-attachments@lindenlab.com and reference the issue name in the email subject line.

Jellyfish Will do - I will send a standard mesh due to my copyright.
Is there a link to your documentation on the new settings please, so I can figure out the new workflow e.g. Resolution, Hulls per Mesh, Vertices per hull, Error tolerance under Analyze as these are all new features so I can align best practice if the old Havok settings are no longer available to me..
The physics calculation is VERY slow, but if you come back to it, it has finished calculation (circa 60 seconds versus real-time in Havok) and resolves.
