Snapshot does not retain value of HUD/ Interface checkboxes with CTR:-`
Bavid Dailey
Open Snapshot, choose save to DIsk, check one or both of the boxes Interface or HUD.
Open the Map or mini-Map
Do a save to confirm that the snapshot contains Map or Minimap,
close Snaphot.
enter CTRL-` the shortcut to take a snapshot without showing a dialog.
check resulting picturte, no Interface components are shown.
Open snapshot, the checkboxes are still ticked.
While I cannot claim this is a critical problem, it is a serious bug when you need to take a series of photos, with Maps included, as when sailing /flying, for example.
I am told, but have not personally verfiied, that it worked as expected in pre-PBR viewer version.

There are two parts to this:
1) The UI/HUD features are not compatible with hi_res photos. This is noted in comments in the code in various places. Whether this restriction is historical and no longer makes sense is another question and would be suitable for a feature request, rather than a bug report - if you get my meaning.
2) The observation that the controls remain enabled even though the snapshot did not produce the expect result when writing to disk is a side-effect of the code in LLFileTakeSnapshotToDisk. In this code the ui and hud rendering are disabled temporarily while the snapsot is taken but they settings (that drive the UI) are not updated. Thus next time you look at the settings they will show as enabled still.
As best I can tell, this has always been the behaviour.

Beq Janus I think that your answer to 1) is not the whole story; if hi-res always disabled the UI and or HUD options, it wouldn't be possible for me to make the picture in my original post. Yet it is. I'm complaining about the inconsistency ....

Bavid Dailey hmmm - request for some info added to the JIRA, lest I go cross-eyed on Canny.

Hi Bavid,
I am not able to reproduce this so far, although I'm testing on a M1 rather than an M2 chip.
Could you attach a snapshot of your screen with the snapshot floater open. Maybe there's some other option that I need ticked here to reproduce it.

Dan Linden Cannot do that with snapshot itself, this is a gyazo

Dan Linden I am reasonably confident that, this not a mac only bug. There's a Firestorm Jira with a related issue.
