Install a space navigator device; enable it in Joystick configuration. If the latest drivers from 3D Connexion are installed, it will not function at all. If the drivers are de-installed , it will function in Second Life viewers in a crippled way.

It's february 2026 and this problem still not solved. So frustrating!

Nerorhea Supermarine It
is
infuriating , I bought my SN before 2010, when Torley Linden was championing SN within the labs and evangelising the product on official Linden Labs channels. It worked marvellously for years. After Torley left, nobody from the Lab seems to have cared.I'm reasonably certain it is not a huge incompatability introduced bvy Connectix, it is just a small legacy issue to fix. Even if i am wrong in that assessment, I feel Linden Labs owes us a fix.Nerorhea Supermarine
I agree with you Bavid, Linden Labs has a duty to resolve the issue, given the usefulness and cost of the accessory.

David Conundrum... still unresolved issue

This has been an issue for several years now and no progress. Deinstalling the drivers allows the navigator to be used in a brain damaged way. Of course doing so precludes use of the navigator for other software and in the viewer one has to put up with inadvertent click, sits, selection , scrolls, teleports etc etc . Its so frustrating.

This has been an issue for some time, but becomes a bigger issue for each OS version.
A partial solution.for SL is to simply remove the drivers for the jSpace Navigator. This should make it possible to use it in the SL viewer, but will make the Navigator useless for any other program on the Mac.
I would love to be able to, again, use my Space Navigator for SL AND for other software I rely on daily.
