Voice Chat - Selective “Known Issues”
needs info

TP from my private sim to Virsino sim. Voice is working at my sim, it stops (for me only) when we land at Virsino, and does not work (for me only). Then, when we leave, it resumes working as if there were no problems. It only stops working when I leave ANY sim and go to Virsino. That is the only sim that stops working. LL Support has told me this is a known issue- I have not met anyone who has experienced this issue. They recommended that I make this bug report.

I would also be curious to see your viewer log from a session where this happens. You can find your viewer log at C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\SecondLife\ or C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\Firestorm\, where Username is your Windows username.

Mercury Linden Would I just upload that to you here?

Amanda Tae: Yes please!

Mercury Linden I have found the Logs folder, but there are several things here and none of them are recent. The most recent is 1/9/26 - Does it have a specific name? Should it be from today?

Amanda Tae: I accidentally left out the end of the path. The full path is: "C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\SecondLife\logs" or "C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\Firestorm_x64\logs". The actual log file should be named "SecondLife.log", and its modified date should be whenever your last session was.

Thank you for reporting this. There is a known issue that involves some bluetooth headsets. Specifically, if you try press the "speak" button, talk, then press it again to stop speaking, you may end up so that you cannot hear others, even though you see their voice bars. It's a timing problem with some headsets.
It would be useful to find out if this is the issue. Here are some things to try:
* If people can use a wired headset instead of a bluetooth one, that would tell us if it is this problem or not, as wired headset (or wired speakers) don't show this problem.
* If people are on a laptop with a microphone, they can keep their wired headset on, but switch to use the laptop microphone.
While these are not optimal solutions for everyone, it will at least tell us that the issue is related to the bluetooth headsets.
We will have a fix going out in the bluetooth issue in the 26.1 release candidate probably tomorrow, so check the Release Candidates site: https://releasenotes.secondlife.com/viewer.html
26.1.0.21522948608 does not have the fix yet, it'll be one after that.
It may only happen on that region because that region is using the beta WebRTC voice server, as opposed to the old Vivox voice server. The region "WebRTC Voice 2" is also using the new beta voice server, and may also show the same problem. It would be good to know if it does.

Roxie Linden The message from support read as follows: We’ve taken a look at the regions you mentioned and believe we’ve identified the cause of the behavior you’re seeing. The two regions you’re traveling between are currently on different voice server systems. Your region, Silver Tide, is using the older, current voice servers, while Virsino Games is running on the newer Vivox voice servers.
Switching between regions that use different voice server types can sometimes cause voice issues like the one you’re describing. Unfortunately, this is a known issue, and our engineers are actively working on improvements related to this behavior.
