Voice crashing on teleport
complete
Pew Yeetly
My voice will work fine, then if I try to teleport to another region with voice, my viewer will not connect to the voice server. The white dot will not appear. If I try to teleport back to where I came from, or anywhere else, my viewer will crash.
If I want to visit another sim, I have to log out. Log into my linden home, then go where I want to use voice. Sometimes my voice will not work on launch, and I will have to log in somewhere else and come back, otherwise it will just repeat. This is frustrating, is there any fix?

This sounds like issue "viewer-private#395 Voice stops working if you teleport within a region. [Vivox Only]" which was fixed in 7.1.12.13550888671 - ForeverFPS (https://releasenotes.secondlife.com/viewer/7.1.12.13550888671.html)

I own a large parcel on a mainland sim and am mostly there. Since that is a public forum I will put the sim version but not its location. We can discuss location when the world is not watching. I have problems with a few buttholes in SL who like to abuse for amusement so I keep the area pretty locked down. It is Second Life Server 2024-10-15.11356152186. I can TP from area to area within the parcel and most every time voice crashes. Disable and enable restore it on almost all occasions but re-logging if all else fails. I have experimented with FS and LL viewers both production and beta. Same results. The other people on the parcel experience the same thing. If you would like to test the parcel yourself please contact me and I will give you location and allow access to accounts you name.

I am even loosing voice TPing to other areas of the same parcel on the Linden viewer. I am on mainland and on the Linden Viewer. Any word on a fix.

Warthog Jun: Can you give exact locations where this is happening and hopefully we can reproduce the issue here too. Also, what viewer and version are you using?
Warthog Jun
Still a problem. Some viewer versions actually have to log in else where to get voice before coming to my parcel. I am actually losing voice teleporting withing the same parcel. Any word on a fix

Hi Pew Yeetly, thanks for the report. I have a few questions:
- Is this issue recurring - are you able to reproduce it now?
- Which viewer were you using when this issue occurred? Could you please past your Help -> About Second Life text?
- Is this issue specific to certain regions, or do you see it wherever you teleport to?
Pew Yeetly
I am not able to reproduce it at the moment which is odd, as it has been a recurring issue since the Alpha Firestorm PBR build, I am currently using the latest version of firestorm. It seems to happen more frequently on some of the linden owned sims, not sure if it's on my end. Such as a DNS issue or something?
Pew Yeetly
Maestro Linden I have added more info below.
Pew Yeetly
Maestro Linden This seems to be an issue for other residents. Seems to be a common issue amongst people that frequent similar sims. Seems to of started happening around the launch of PBR within the Alpha of Firestorm's PBR build. Happens frequently for me even still.

Pew Yeetly: Okay, I don't have visibility into Firestorm's crash reports, so I would recommend filing an issue with them at https://jira.firestormviewer.org/secure/Dashboard.jspa if it's recurring for you. Alternatively, you can try our viewer at http://get.secondlife.com and see if the crashes reproduce with it as well - we can access those crash reports.
I also want to point out that we have a major overhaul coming to SL voice in the coming weeks, which is detailed here:
It's currently supported in the 'atlasaurus' viewer release candidate, which can be found at the link below. This particular viewer supports both Vivox and webRTC for voice chat, depending on the simulator version. The main grid is almost entirely on Vivox at the moment, but that will change once most viewers support webRTC for voice chat.
