Ability to Change Group Name

I created a group several years ago for my store, and I wish I had the ability to change the group name (to remove brackets, change a word, etc.). I'd even be willing to pay a small fee for this (similar to changing my avatar name, but maybe payable in Lindens...like paying to partner/unpartner).

I wish when we make a group if we need to rename it we could and ones we don't want and there only 1 person in it be taken out right away I has two and they been there for some time like to see them gone all of this would be great more so the being bale to rename it as I said I has two that I am the only one in and like them gone

I have been in bussiness for over 17 years in sl with the same group, I would love to add the word "Rentals" to the end of the group name so it explains what the group is about and is easier to find, if we can rename AV's, surely we can rename groups? the only way to rename a group at the present is to create a new group, evict everyone from the old group then invite them to the new group.

I’m in SL since 2007… I never understood why it’’s not possible to change the name of a group.
For example in 2008 I created my Spiritual Art Gallery, and Spiritual Art Group to promote it and to share all the information about the events that took place there.
Now I own the Kondor Art Center, and I wanted to rename the group to Kondor Art Group.
Could you please tell me why I can’t do it ?

Hello, everybody...
It was so good and so very useful, that we could change the names of the groups... For example, I own the Spiritual Art Group, founded to promote the events of my previous Spiritual Art Gallery, founded in, 2008, that ended in 2014.
Now, since 2021, I'm the owner and art curator of the Kondor Art Center... ti was excellent to rename the group, with a more adequate name, referring the Kondor Art Center.
Can you please tell me when will it be possible ?

This is an important suggestion as group members are already in place and would not need to join a "new" group. Also, removing members from a group to close it feels bad. No one likes being booted, regardless of the reason, which reduces the likelihood that they will join a "replacement" group.

I agree strongly, would be such a lovely thing to do, sometimes you make a group with some idea in mind and then it evolves and you have to spend more money and invite people again to new groups and that makes you lose members too. Brilliant idea which I have been asking LL in chat since 2008 since I have been a member of SL. It will help businesses a lot.

In fact LL can rename groups and they have done so. Not for casual reasons like "I'd like to rename my Chicken Nugget Lovers group to Hot Wings Only because I don't like chicken nuggets anymore", but the two cases I witnessed, after a long abuse report procedure they renamed a group called Aryan Sisterhood Club to ASC and another called Irish Republican Army (IRA) to Investment Retirement Account (IRA). So yes, they can do it. Probably only willing to when they really must, though, which is understandable because otherwise they'd be flooded with group rename requests all the time.

It occurs to me that an unintended consequence of this otherwise desirable change, might be that groups become valuable property and could be bought and sold.

Bavid Dailey They can be sold and bought anyway, it's not unusual for land groups to be traded to avoid the hassle of setting up a new land group, group tags on objects, tenants, etc.
