Bring SL back to Steam (To grow the community)

Many of our creatives are leaving the community for other platforms, and regular players leaving as it feels like growth has stagnated too long. With the age of the game it is getting more and more rare for people to stumble into secondlife and stay.
Bringing the game back to steam will give a trusted platform for people to discover the game through, and while buying linden through steam might not be as profitable having to cut in another platform, but if it is done right it could at least bring in new players and help them migrate to the off steam downloads.
Steam has changed a lot since last SL was on it, now featuring games with adult content, SL is tame by most comparisons.

I agree, putting SL on Steam might make it more discoverable. But I suspect that greater discoverability would just mean greater churn -- so-called casual gamers trying it a time or two and then leaving because there's no pew-pew or scorekeeping, and because it's so difficult (and expensive) to stand up a decent avie. LL's AWP move will help with that last thing, but still.
Some of the features LL is working on seem to point to increased gamification of SL; maybe the Lab is thinking that would snag & keep more of the tradgaming population. If so, it seems better-advised to wait until "gamified SL" is more feature-complete.
Also, the point you make about buying L$ through Steam? I doubt that LL would take Steam's "sales tax" hit; the residents would.
