Client Side Banline Visibility Slider

We absolutely need a slider on the client-side for the visible range of banlines. This would solve MANY issues people have around banlines, whether it's not wanting to see them at all, or needing to see them from a long distance to avoid running into them, IE. during travel in a plane or fast boat.
A slider with at least several distance settings, from like 0 to 1-200meters out would be MASSIVELY helpful and solve most folks banline woes.

We definitely need this! As a pilot in Second Life, I run into ban lines all the time because I don't see them until it's too late and I'm suddenly out of my plane. Having the ability to adjust and customize how far I see ban lines would be very useful.

Yes please. I feel like 50% of SLers want the banline visibility distance to be shorter, or zero, and 50% of SLers want the banline visibility distance to be half a region away. A slider solves everything!

I would like to add that it would also be great if security orbs were somehow forced to set a parcel flag that was displayed in a similar way so those parcels appear on the mini-map and via the banline in-world mechanism too (maybe in a different color).

Jerrod Diavolo Or just get rid of orbs al together, would suit me fine.

Debi Dastardly That would of course be the optimal solution but there are some land owners very insistent on keeping that griefing tool around.
Oil Supply
Debi Dastardly Agreed but at the very least, seeing which parcels have orbs would be better than not. As a pilot, I'm happy to avoid parcels.

Jerrod Diavolo Perhaps have any object that contains llTeleportAgentHome() or llEjectFromLand() set the flag you mention while the script is active. Would save having to update the orb's code to comply.

Great suggestion! Shortening the visibility range was one of the worst decisions back in the day. This should be a good middle ground for satisfying all. And please make the servers announce banlines more far away again.

Nothing ruins a nice day of sailing or flying like running into bans lines. One time I hit some so hard it undressed me! Wouldn't that be the virtual R word? When I'm undressed against my will.

Hello, and thank you for your feature request regarding a client-side banline visibility slider. This is indeed a valuable suggestion that could greatly enhance the experience for many residents, especially those who frequently travel by air or water. We wanted to let you know that a similar request was brought up in the past, and we are merging your comments to help prioritize this feature. While we don't have an estimate on when it might be implemented, please keep an eye on future updates. We appreciate your input and hope you continue to share your ideas to help improve Second Life. Thank you!

SL Feedback It also seems there are people that can't give feedback, via upvote or comments because they can't actually log in here into the feeback section it just keeps telling them to log in and when they try it puts them on a different page. Figured I'd mention it, even though this isn't really a bug reporting spot.
