I have known people who have had this happen. There should be some way for LL to mark groups inactive which would disallow fees to be charged.

"Dead" group- 99 percent was for a store ;some for a location - rental land . "Dead" No one is behind the marquee in owner /officer position that is servicing creations, renting, running events BUT if for some reason - to get service, find an item you saw in world , want to find the possible new rental location etc you pay the JOIN FEE - you are being charged for nothing. if the group is below 5000 members you can see the leadership positions are empty , or if grp chat is active may get a reply the group is dormant but your join fee is wasted. Taking money for nothing. Plus who gets the join fee?

Is it really dead if people are still joining in it?

Lucia Nightfire Dead owner & dead mods: Lindendollar going directly to LL. Such groups are not moderated anymore - should be fixed.

Hello, and thank you for your feature request regarding group join fees for 'dead' groups. This idea has been brought up in the past and is currently tracked. We understand the frustration of paying to join a group only to find it inactive, and we appreciate your detailed suggestion on how to address this issue. While we have no estimate on when this might be implemented, please keep an eye on future updates. Your input is valuable, and we hope you continue to share your ideas to help improve Second Life. Thank you!
