Make Animesh Characters subject to second life physics
tracked
Science Copperfield
I love Animesh characters. I have dancers, security guards, cars, zombies you can shoot, zombies that shoot at you,and zombies that wander. I also have wandering animals.
The problem, however, is no matter how I try, wandering Animesh walk through walls like ghosts. They wander across borders and I have to position them carefully to stay on my land. They wander through ban lines. They don't care about security orbs. They ignore object bans from other parcels. I have a B5 Robot from Lost in Space. I have to play with finding the right "home location" and set the wandering radius so that it doesn't walk through through the walls of the building like a ghost.
Bottom line, things I do on my lands need to stay on my lands. Animesh needs to follow the laws of Second Life Physics.

I would love to see this and to add to this, or maybe I am asking the impossible... the ability for animesh wanderers to have a setting to be able to follow sl terrain. If I rezz an animesh animal at one height, it falls below the surface on a hill or hovers up above when going downhill... would that even be a possibility to have them sense the terrain?

Darien Caldwell
Sounds like you should look into Second Life's pathfinding system.
Science Copperfield
Darien Caldwell This is useful information so Thank you. However what I am referring to are animesh characters that I have purchased as part of a package or as individual NPCs such as https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/GCS-Zombie-Prisoner-Spawner-pack/19201222
It's fine if they more or less stay in one place and dance. But when they have a roaming range or are programmed for pursuit as is the case with the GCS zombies I linked, they need to stay on my parcels and not annoy my neighbors.
Another example is https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Zombie-Animesh/24732805
This animesh has a pre-programmed wandering path that I have no control over. When you first rez it, it looks like it will stay where you rezz it. But it eventually wanders off.

Science Copperfield It sounds like the items are just poorly scripted. It's well within the possibility to detect parcel boundaries and objects and have a scripted NPC not cross or pass through them
