New "exciting" policy allowing creation of gacha is useless!
Ikaros Alpha
Please change the new "exciting" policy about gachas so we can SWAP / RESELL double items again. It really makes no sense to allow the 'gacha lottery' but if you get 3 times the same item they are forever yours/useless.

I agree. That policy takes all the fun out of gacha. I really enjoyed swapping extras with friends.

This is a sales mechanic, but it is not gacha.
Random collectibles/tradeables. This is gacha.
Call it what you like, but please do not call it GACHA, it is not.
This new policy is so ridiculous that I cannot believe that LL actually wasted time and labour hours to discuss and implement it.
It is a non-thing to me, and I cannot fathom that many, if any, consumers/end-users would pay multiple times for the same product any more than I can believe that any producer/creator would put much, if any, effort into hosting one of these machines, knowing this.
The Miepon mechanic suffices, short of briging back what mirrors the RL gacha sales/item mechanic with a /mandatory/ rare percentage possibility posted.
At least two major events, Arcade(through formula), TAG!(in machine description), disclosed this information to the public so that people knew exactly their chances of getting a spiffy prize, rather then the oft more mundane common items.
The checkMATE script, which was offered to the public, was coded to display that information right in the description line for everyone to see.
Why has 'big government'(LL) moved in and removed any aspect of personal responsibility from the sales/purchase equation?
I can't even believe that I have put this much effort toward this announcement obviously crafted by the Ministry of SIlly Sales.

Dear Lindens,
I doubt that the responsible person behind this new decision knows what Gachas is all about. This new regulation is just stupid. I'm not going to remain as objective as my nice colleagues, because I'm getting fed up here.
Linden has been making thousands or even millions of L$ from the gacha market for over 10 years. It's a great community with a passion for the same hobby. Why are you slowly and consistently destroying it with these really inane changes?
Three years ago you guys banned the old machines, which caused many reputable creators to stop their gacha production. These creators have also made a good living from gacha players for many years. Other consequences of this have already been mentioned in other posts.
Then you have been constantly fiddling with the Marketplace for some time. The search engine is a CATASTROPHE! Many sellers have suffered huge financial losses as a result. And this applies to ALL sellers.
And now the last really senseless and ill-considered decision. I’m speechless...
All these changes takes fun out of it and the money we have invested over years in Gachas (including in LL) will probably never be seen again. But there is actually a problem that Linden Lab could really tackle in a meaningful way, but NOTHING is happening!
It's about the countless copybotters who multiply like rats and sell gachas at dumping prices on marketplace. People like us, who have thrown huge amounts of money into these machines, are left sitting on our gachas. They undercut the usual market prices, copy the items and fill them up as soon as they are sold. Many of them have multiple stores and have been known to LL for years but nothing has happened. That's FRAUD btw....
If it helps to sue for gacha machines to be abolished, maybe we should think about to do the same with copybotters! We talk about REAL money and LL should finally do something about it. Thank you.

Just read this new policy here:
If the intent is to stop people gambling and spending money , this new machine with 'no transfer' items (if you cant see whats next) will just cause 'gacha' machine consumers to spend more who have limited 'impulse control'. It will be the same outcome they are trying to discourage - excessive spending on machine with limited reasonable control on spend to win ratio of the rare items.
The change will also potentially mean no new items for resellers in their shops , which will drive out the gacha resell community both in spending with creators and also on spending on land rentals for their shops.
I personally rent in gacha community and buy gacha, more then I sell gacha as its a fun hobby then anythng else. But my support is with resellers and consumers here and I would not likely support creators who may turn to these machines and not use the ones currently now used with transfer items, if there is an option to use both. If you want to sell a no transfer item, just sell it normally in store.
The main benefit seems not for consumers or resellers. It will be interesting how creators respond to this.

Gacha machines with copy items will not count how many copies you pull to pick one single item you want. That will be a very expensive buy for a single item you wish to have. For example there are 25 items in a machine but you only wish to have 4th. Actually a creator can sell them as copy items individually already, but they mix and match crap and perfection usually, so the crap items are stacking in inventory while pulling when you try to get one single desired item. You pull and pull until you get the 4th, playing for 50 lindens. At the end of this you will have multiple other numbers like 8s, 16s etc. Since you don't desire to keep them, when they are transfer, you can swap or sell to have some of your money back. Think that until you pull your number 4, you pulled 85 times. Just one item will cost 4250 lindens to buyer. I don't think people will play copy gacha machines. I don't know how you decided to put this into discussion, but this will be a customer robbery.

OxfordLennox Resident " I don't know how you decided to put this into discussion" <--- it is about the new gachas being NO TRANS.

Gacha machines and the Gacha community, which has been around since 2013 has undoubtedly been a major boost to the LL economy, be it by inworld sales from the creators machines, or the resale of the TRANSFERABLE prizes both inworld and on the marketplace. For the life of me I cannot imagine why LL would think non transfer gacha will be a boost in these tough times. If LL thinks we are going to get "excited" by this news they are sorely mistaken. We have run a gacha market for the last 10 years, at the peak we had 3.5 sims. Now down to one sim and slowly but surely, especially since the announcement of this confusing new policy, people are closing their shops and leaving. Soon we will be no more. Thanks Linden Labs, for nothing. Note: I am not confused, but I have experienced several who believe its now against policy to sell ANY gacha, marked as transfer or not. At the very least clarify the terms for those that have found it confusing.

I don't understand this change...
You're making it more and more difficult for gacha sellers...every gacha seller is already suffering losses due to the last change.
I've closed all my shops except for two small ones because it's no longer worth it...and now the next change is coming...it's really no fun anymore. Why don't you start a big survey before something like this is implemented...many people are sitting on their items even on the marketplace...I think it's disrespectful to every buyer and reseller!

they brought back the "old" gacha machines to give the thrill of discovery again but they had to make them like the "zingo" ..game machines for your own sake. this was the news, obviously it created chaos but also Arcade specified that in their meeting with LL everything remains as it is now in the case of transferable gacha. the news spoke ONLY of the old gacha machines

The Gacha brand existed since 2013 or so and developed it's own community of practice (CoP) . I'm sure the ones who came up with the new & improved policy guidelines conducted a viable survey to the new policy for Transfer Only products? The No Copy creators & resellers and those who enjoy playing the machines have enjoyed this activity many years. One has choices with Gacha's NoCopy items. Residence can: "play or not", "keep or not", "sell or not". It is the buyers choice. The NoTransfer exchange is highly restricted: "play and keep in inventory" done. TY.

Absolutely hated gachas, you usually got the rubbish items needing something else which you could never acquire, or you got identical items. Soon gave them up as a bad idea many years ago.
