Option to Disable Emoji Popup Menu for Notecards / Chat

As a creator who works with AO / config notecards that use ":" as a common part of their code, the current Emoji Popup menu behavior is extremely inconvenient, distracting, and even annoying as it makes a sound with every keystroke of a new letter after the trigger.
An option to toggle the popup menu off for Notecards and even Chat would be greatly appreciated. There is already a request to have the trigger configurable - but many of us would just plainly prefer to turn off the popup menu entirely.

I agree that this "emoji picker" is a nuisance. I have been using notecards and writing lsl scripts for a long time, and have developed a nice eye-hand coordination for doing so. Now, some group of "Lindens" have apparently decided to, in my opinion, dumb down SL even more in their quest for appeal to the masses who they hope to entice into money-paying subscribers. Lindens, please note: the emoji picker is junk. We are already harassed from all points on cellphones, social media, even smart tvs, with this quick and easy substitute for human emotion.
For gosh sake, at least give us an option to turn this junk off.

Typing ":-D" into a chat line pops up an emoji picker with the single choice of a :fleur-de-lis: emoji. The user should have a way to either select what they literally typed, or entirely disable the popup and take what's typed as literal.

"emojis must die" as a viewer preference, please. :)

Also typing something common like a time (1:00) triggers the pop up.

agreed, I don't care for the pop-up at all.
