Most regions in Second Life are still using the old legacy windlight by default. This means that even if someone is using a PBR viewer with shared environment enabled, they’ll still see a blue tint. This causes confusion, assumed it's a graphics card issue not being able to handle PBR.
I really want to see LL fix this by creating a new default windlight that works with both Legacy and PBR viewers. If you're unsure how, I made a full perm windlight that looks good on both viewers that you can use as a template:
This matters to me because I create a lot of glass products and as you can see the difference between them both: https://gyazo.com/345080efe6aadb683abebc611e6f9693
I'm currently landscaping for a client on a community estate, and used my glass in many areas, but all their regions are using the default Legacy day cycle Windlight. When residents of this estate drive around using shared environment, they will see my glass like this: https://gyazo.com/7553103b21e27e2d07165b3eda30cb47
This issue has been brought up many times before, but many of us couldn't create a Windlight suitable for both viewers until now.
You can upload a new default + day cycle on Marketplace, include it in our inventories, and send out an email to all region owners on how to set this up.
