on https://secondlife.com/system-requirements as keeping it too low is not serving the community, especially because visual quality, speed or PBR can't fit.
Time to use modern machines and Firestorm can confirm that their percentage of users with prehistorical computers is now getting close to 0.
I think that 32-bit should no more be mentioned as 64-bit has been the standard now for long times and it would be time to talk not just resolution but GPU features too.
Everyone here knows that being comfy with SL means having a GPU including 8GB VRAM, not to say also a bigger screen. It also means that most creators and more globally users having a portable computer even have 2 screens !
Mobile will be a totally different use focused mainly on the avatar.

The page you linked literally says that the Linux viewer is not maintained by Linden Lab. What would them raising the minimum system requirements accomplish? The Linux viewer is not 32-bit just because Linden Lab says the minimum system requirements are 32-bit. Nobody runs 32-bit Linux anymore, they aren't specifically trying to target ancient distributions.
Also which "GPU features" exactly are not possible on 32-bit systems, and why?
