Safe rezzing of coalesced objects
tracked
Hooten Haller
When moving a coalesced object from one parcel to another (such as when moving homes) it’s too easy to drop a spread-out coalesced object and have some of the members go outside my own parcel, or the region, giving an error. Can you devise a solution to make rezzing these easier and safer?
[I thought I’d already posted or tracked this but can’t find it, so an apology if it’s a duplicate]

Spidey Linden I definitely want the spatial relationships preserved if possible, so the merge post’s proposal is not an good enough solution. One possible solution is be happy with is for all the objects to be “Phantom Rezzed” in proposed locations, with the out of bounds (or exceeded LI) marked in some way (color? Sparkle?) to indicate trouble. After manually repositioning the collection, then the Phantom Rez can be completed: the OK items would Rez properly. The remaining troublesome items can be dumped to a folder or to a brand new coalesced object (thus preserving their relative positions),

Merged in a post:
Add the option to return objects separately instead of coalesced
Mister Acacia
As a land owner or manager, the ability to return a collection of items in one go makes for quicker management of a land area, but not for the owner of the items being returned because the items arrive as a coalesced bundle which must then be rezzed somewhere and then the objects taken separately. That "somewhere" might have to be unpackistan, so it would include SL Support effort as well as time waiting for that access. If the objects could instead be returned separately, perhaps in a folder, all the effort to unlink the coalesced bundle would be eliminated, any SL Support effort would be minimal at best
