Sit on Avatar/Animesh Skeleton Point

Make it possible to click an avatar/animesh, select "Sit on ..." and get a list of skeleton targets that the avatar/animesh has enabled to be sat on. This would make the sitting avatar follow the skeleton as if they were an attachment. Needs permissions handling for avatars. The avatar/animesh can define a (limited?) number of skeleton targets like "Head", "Spine", etc. by script with an offset and rotation for each.

I am not quite sure what i could say that has not been already done by the folks here, i can say that i would like this idea to become a thing for that extra fun and quality of life. there have been many times i wanted to share something with friends or my mate but the item does not exists or rezzing is not allowed so it cant be done, some times its just nice to walk together hand in hand around a region you explore or fly around as a dragon and have some one along for the ride having fun together.

Being able to "sit" on another avatar is a no brainer. It would make huggers ten times better. It would allow people to share a wearable mount. It would allow people to walk hand in hand. So many uses, and a very obvious weakness of SL that there isn't an option like this.
However contrary to the OP's suggestion, it should be sit on attachment, not sit on avatar. That makes things much easier and saner from a scripting viewpoint -- you could only sit on attachments that are scripted to be sat on (and of course there should be an "xxxx would like to sit on your attachment" permission box), and you'd be able to have scripts inside the relevant attachment that determine what happens when sat on, such as playing an appropriate animation.
This seems like something that wouldn't be hard to implement and would open up whole new areas of interaction and creativity. Do eeeet!

Medea Destiny I believe OP's title says "Sit on (skeleton point)/Animesh (skeleton point)". But I agree that we could just have attachments that have a SitTarget script in them, so people can right click > Seat. Security wise, you can script an auto kicker if you want to make sure only specific people can sit on them. You can also set an animation with sit targets (it's how chairs with animations work, after all)
Cristiano Midnight
Shakeno Tomsen you bring up a great point. I could see an avsitter type thing working well with this, so both users can adjust their offset to fine tune it. It options up so many possibilities. I have wanted something like this for decades at this point.
Medea Destiny
Shakeno Tomsen The issue here being that we can't script an avatar or skeleton point directly. Targeting attachments on those attachment points
specifically
has all the benefits, a simple security aspect to it (no scripted sit target = nowhere to sit) and the advantages that accrue to having the sitter effectively a child of the scripted linkset as they are with any conventional rezzed seat in terms of repositioning the sitter, as Cristiano Midnight points out.Shakeno Tomsen
Medea Destiny I believe there's a misunderstanding on your part, as I was agreeing with you regarding attachment sitting, and expanding upon it. Cristiano Midnight was even agreeing with me. I don't know where I said that I was asking for sitting on an avatar skeleton point instead of an object.
I still say, however, that it is unnecessary to add a "Allow X to sit on your attachment" dialog box when you have the option of simply taking off the Sit Target attachment, or have a simple autokicker in the linkset if you only want to allow specific people, and also, there's also that the dialog box would be a little spammable and will probably become annoying after a while.
Medea Destiny
Shakeno Tomsen Ok, fair enough! I took your reference to the OP's title as supportive of that approach, my apologies. And yes, there would be no need for a dialog box if for example it was only possible to sit on an attachment with a sit target set, which simplifies everything. Agreed!

This has been a suggestion for a long time, being able to sit on attachment objects that other avatars have worn. As mentioned already in all those posts, and the old JIRA, this would help a lot with saddles (Allowing the animation to accurately follow the position of the attachment WITHOUT needing to make an animation for that) and couples walkers, like hugging, princess carrying, etc. Heck, you could have different avatar sizes and proportions and still accurately follow without having to make animations for every specific size possibility!

Title: Ability for Avatars to "sit" on another Avatar
Details: Currently the only way to sync avatars who want to walk together, is limited to invisible prim vehicles. What if an avatar can sit on another avatar?
It would revolutionize the horse riding scene where horse avatars can give rides.
Couples can walk together and go for a scenic stroll.
Ability to play animations that line up better.
Could it be implemented?
Make it so only people in your friendslist can initiate request to "sit" on your avatar.

Title: Toggable option to allow others to "SIT" on your avatar
Details: I don't know if this is possible on a technical scale but I think it would be great for immersion and quality of life if there was a toggable feature to allow another avatar to sit on you, and you can both "walk" around together (whilst being animated).
On the humanoid side, it would open up a whole new category of couples poses solely dedicated to being closer to each other and allowing couples to lets say "hold hands" while they walk around in Second Life.
Some other practical uses would also be for the folks who enjoy being horses, as currently if you are a horse avatar, the only way to let another avatar ride on you is through the use of an invisible vehicle that both of you have to sit on.
A feature like this would eliminate such a need for invisible walkers.

Love this idea and hope it can get implemented.

A function to sit on avatar, like that no more need of poseball.
Dan Linden asked me to post the idea here. :)

If this is not my first comment on a suggestion, then it is at least one of my first. I wholeheartedly support this idea and would love to see it come to fruition!!!

This would be a huge upgrade to Second Life - for many residents it would be even more useful than the Bento bones upgrade and likely also more than the current PBR upgrade, as awesome as that is. I don't think there would be as much work getting this backwards compatible as with the other mentioned upgrades though? Older scripted "sit" objects would continue to work as normal right?

Imagine this sit on avatar features access levels, white list and such for PG and Adult, and there is an extension of your AO where you can add couple poses to animate yourself when someone with access sits on you. Be your own mobile everywhere furniture. This could have finer access level that allows to grant or deny access to specific poses/animations, depending on sitter name, gender, and "previous actions" like paying a fee.
