I'm not sure what your intent with this post is. If you are looking for tips, tools, and better accessibility options, my suggestion is to talk to the folks at Virtual Ability. That is their group name inworld as well as their official name. Their website is at virtualability dot org. Virtual Ability is a great resource for the disabled and handicapped in SL who need assistance making the most of their time in SL. (Gentle Heron is their fearless leader.)

If that app works for you in SL... then use it?
I'm not sure what's the point of this post. Are you asking them to integrate a 3rd party app into the viewer? Just because the app is free, doesn't mean it's open source without any license use limitation.
As far I'm aware, you can still use the app, not only for Second Life, but for anything on your PC where text input are, since it acts like a keyboard for your voice. Of course, is it good? Doesn't seem like it, and there are many different variants and services out there to choose from.

This feature is so important for the other way as well. People like myself who have difficulty typing, but want to keep using chat. There is software such as Dragon, but it is so hard to use in the viewer. My fingers are getting worse and will soon make it impossible for me to type for any lenth of time. I appreciate that we could use voice,b ut I feel it detracts from the appeal of SL. It introduces too much of RL.

Hello, and thank you for your feature request regarding the implementation of a Speech to Text option for accessibility in Second Life. This idea has been brought up in the past and is currently tracked. We understand the importance of making Second Life more inclusive for the deaf community, those who are hard of hearing, and others with audio language-processing difficulties. While we have no estimate on when this feature may be implemented, please keep an eye on future updates. We appreciate your input and hope you continue to share your ideas to help improve Second Life. Thank you!
