Terrain Exclusion Surface objects

Now that we just got Water Exclusion Surface objects it would be desirable if we could also have Exclusion for terrain. This would make it possible to visually have builds below the terrain surface.

I'm not actually personally sure what the use-case for this would BE? Like... I guess you could technically have some sort of visual pit or underground build things of sorts that you could then look down into? with some kind of glass or grate to make it make sense you can't actually go into it.... because this would only be for visuals, you couldn't actually go into the spaces the texture would be excluding...

Pilix Nagy - One example could be a water well, you would look down the well and see the sides going down below the surface. Terraforming can be a challenge where you have steep sections because the minimum terrain resolution is 4m - you could hide the ground where needed. I'll attach an example.
Also it is possible to use animations to move avatars below ground, but in this use case it would not be to hide the avatar(s) - same as sitting off sim for example.

Robin Lobo Yeah, fair enough. I guess there may be some uses where it would make some visuals easier to achieve without having to deal with terraforming. Especially in places, like mainland parcels, where there are pretty strict limits on how far you can terraform the land.

For the people who are getting excited about caves and tunnels... This feature, if implemented, would just
hide
the terrain, but wouldn't change the fact that region terrain is still physical and you cannot go beneath it. That would require a lot more work.Jennifer Boyle
This would be absolutely wonderful to have. We could have real basements and dungeons.

I agree, this would make, making underwater worlds much easier - For example a watery tunnel currently we need to dig down into the ground then cover the top with mesh, would be easier to just go under. Or if someone wanted to just create a quick tunnel through a mountain among other things.

I totally agree that having also exclusion surface objects for terrain would be useful.

I'd love to be able to have real tunnels and caves!
