Too many instant messages. Delivery capped.

Well, in my dictionary, "capped" is not a synonym of "thrown away". So I would like that at least the first N instant messages be delivered, N being the number of offline instant messages we are allowed to receive as per our membership plan. The reality though, is that once there is more than N messages pending, _NOTHING_ is delivered at all with all the consequences (i.e. frustration, waste of time, financial loss, etc.) implied by this failure. This is more of a bug report than a feature request, but since I already observed the same exact phenomenon 15 years ago, I am starting to believe this bug is now part of the normal behavior of the system. Thank you in advance for fixing this.

Is this occurring with an account that you leave online for extended periods of time, like a week or two? I experience this but ONLY when I've had my offline IM allowance maxed out from IMs that occur when I teleport/region cross. Then when I do log off for whatever amount of time and log in again later, I get no offline IMs in chat. I've been wanting to file a feature request to have the offline count reset or the offline IM queue cleared upon the next successfully occurring online IM.

Lucia Nightfire Hi. I'm sorry I don't understand, could you please explain what you mean by "my offline IM allowance maxed out from IMs that occur when I teleport/region cross"? (Sorry, English is not my mother tongue)

If an object IMs you during a teleport or region cross, the message gets sent to your email instead. When you relog, these messages then show up as offline IMs. The longer you stay logged in and have these IMs sent during teleporting or region crossing, the bigger chance there is that the number of offline messages will exceed your offline message allowance and not show ANY messages at all upon relog. That's the bug I'm alleging is happening to me and maybe you as well.
The trigger for this I think comes with each successful online IM that occurs after the allowance has been exceeded, pushing them out of the queue until nothing is left. That is my theory, at least, but I have not done concrete testing.
But, so far, I only have the no-IMs-showing-on-relog issue happen after I've been online for days or over a week and I get literally hundreds of IMs a day.

Lucia Nightfire First, thank you for taking the time to explain in detail what you meant. I understand what you're saying. In my case I don't think I can correlate capped IMs with teleportation/region crossing. I could, maybe, correlate them with the extremely busy sims I go to, that are so poorly managed that people outside cannot see me, nor the other way around. So when people try to contact me, they send me offline messages that I receive by email, even though I'm actually online. But to be honest, I can't say the two are correlated, I just happen to have this other problem too and because of what you wrote, I thought maybe there is a connection here. If I'm experiencing the same problem you are, that would mean that I should have received offline messages by email before logging again and getting my IMs capped, correct? The offline messages should add up to the maximum allowance, right?
