Homestead Upgrade

An option to upgrade the prim allowance on a Homestead region, from say 5000 prims to 7500 prims or 10,000 prims. We have options on with upgrade option for a full region from 20,000 prims to 30,000 prims and paying extra for this and think Homesteads could do with an upgrade option also, I think this would help to get Homestead regions more popular and more online and gives people more usability for the space of the region.

Contrary to what "SL Feedback" posted on https://feedback.secondlife.com/ldpw/p/buying-extra-prims-stay-on-land-you-own, I do not see this request as being the same.
I see the other request as applying to individual parcels, while this request is about whole regions.
The other important difference is that the other request would apply to individual land owners, not just estate owners.

VriSeriphim Agreed - this post is nothing like the post that was rolled into it. It's a completely different request.

VriSeriphim Resident I am unsure why it is merged as what you said is correct indeed, though I do like the idea of being able to increase Li per parcel also, this would give more freedom for people that need more prims and not need to relocate everything and start again, especially after alot of work going into their land, though as you rightly said, my post is about Homestead regions being able to have more Li and not individual parcels, but both options would be very welcomed by most of the community I would assume.
I personally feel if we are paying more than 50% the cost of a full 20k Li region, we should at least have 10k Li as 5000 Li is just not enough for such a big space and no one wants to have vast empty land or water around their home. Homesteads are great for privacy and those who value having estate manager rights to lock the region to their friends and family etc and with 10k Li, it makes the space so much more viable.
With Secondlife now going mobile which will in turn bring alot of new people to the world we have known and loved for so many years, there is going to be a new demand now more than ever for not only land overall but also for a product option that fills the big gap between a 5k Homestead region and 20k full prim region and I believe this is the answer to fill this gap, even if it cost 10$ more per month to have a homestead upgraded to 10k Li, this also retains a full 20k region as better value per prim just as a 30k prim region is even better value per prim than a 20k region.

How can we make the market fairer for everyone without disrupting it? After getting feedback and discussing with friends, I made a video exploring this topic. Here are the key points:
Land prices should be reduced. This wouldn't negatively affect the market because making land more affordable would lead to more purchases. Even larger estates would benefit, though there should be a cap on the number of regions they can buy to ensure fairness for smaller estates trying to establish themselves.
In my video, I use the example of Coles and Woolworths in Australia to illustrate the negative effects of market domination. This case demonstrates how large companies can control the market, making it difficult for small businesses to thrive and potentially leading to higher prices for consumers due to lack of competition. This real-world example highlights the importance of maintaining a balanced and fair market environment.
We pay more than half the price of a full region for a homestead, so it would be fair to get 10,000 prims. However, Premium Plus should only get 5,000 prims per homestead as an exclusive perk. If they want a full homestead of 10,000 prims, they would have to buy a full region first like everyone else. And yes, we should be able to upgrade for extra prims.
Openspace regions should also get more prims. Paying half the price of a homestead for 1,000 prims just to connect regions and have more waterways is unreasonable. I want to decorate enough to have sea life, but it's hard with only 1,000 prims. At least 2,500-3,000 prims would be more acceptable, especially for $60. Alternatively, the price should be reduced because $60 plus taxes for 1,000 prims is excessive, especially when you consider that you pay $30 a month for a 10,000 prim upgrade.
Make it more affordable with more options, and Linden Lab won't miss out on their profit margin from land sales. By implementing these changes, we can create a fairer market that benefits both small and large landowners while maintaining a healthy economic environment. https://youtu.be/Vl6QpjV6L5M?si=TJwmATUDYu6JG8XZ

Hello, and thank you for your feature request regarding upgrading the prim allowance on a Homestead region. This suggestion has been brought up in the past and will be set to tracked. We have no estimate when it may be implemented, but please keep an eye on future updates. We appreciate your input and encourage you to continue sharing your ideas to help improve Second Life.

Knowing that such a feature is already proposed by some realtors ...

Seconded, I really like this idea! Maybe extra prims could be purchased against the remaining prims of the Public Works/Gov. Linden-Owned lands in the region, since they would be unused forever and thus theoretically safe to allocate elsewhere?

Merged in a post from Sasy Scarborough:
Title: Buying Extra Prims - stay on land you own
Details: The ability to increase your prim count for land you already own, this would mean that people do not have to sell their land and purchase bigger parcels if they are happy where they are already located. Increase does not always need to be more room, but just bigger prim counts needed to enjoy the home/land you have. This could be done in portions that you can buy into as needed, or drop when not needed, also meaning you would not have to decrease your land size if you could no longer afford the increased prim count, or just do not need to use that many prims.

SL FeedbackI absolutely want this. I own (through a group) 40,784 sq m in a mainland sim. Another account owns 256 sq m, and the remainder is all roads and water owned by Governor Linden. There is wasted capacity that no one will ever use. I would pay to use it. If I could do that, LL would make a little more money without adding any costs, and I would be happier.
What's not to like?

Jennifer Boyle But doesn't there need to be prims in those areas owned by Governor Linden to accommodate say someone traveling through that area in a car or boat or plane? I do know the prim use for any type of craft being operated by someone is shown as used in the land edit.
Jennifer Boyle
MissSalina Resident, The Governor has a lot more unused LI than would ever be needed for that. He owns approximately 24k sq m in the sim, which would accommodate around 5k+ LI, far more than could ever be needed for vehicles moving through. There is a small amount of LI from the prims that make up the roads and related structures, but it isn't much.
