Prohibiting brands/store from occupying more than one shop space

While it's within the rules to allow two or more people to open branches of the same brand/store, or one person using alts, given the scarcity of the commercial spaces now and in the foreseeable future, I believe it would be more fair to merchants to restrict ownership of more than one space until every merchant who wants a space has one.
There have been a lot of complaints about "fairness" and "rules" on the forum, and even more discussions (and disagreements) about what a store is or what sales/commerce mean, but this is fundamentally a blatant example of pure greed, a person not having any sense of empathy or consideration for other merchants by claiming two spaces for one store.
While this is a qualitative call, it only seems like the right thing to do, although given how cut-throat it has been to grab commercial spaces (I've see 14 avatars all trying to scoop one abandoned store) and their on-going scarcity, something needs to be done to assure users that LL is playing fair and allowing everyone to get s spot at the start.

Hello Katherine! The covenant for the Linden Homes Commercial regions has been updated, and the changes may help address your concerns.
If you own a store parcel, and encounter a bug with the land or the building, please either create a new post here to report it, or file a support ticket using the Linden Home category.
If you believe that the covenant is being violated in any way, please take the time to file an abuse report for the issue, with as much specific detail as possible.

Hello Katherine! Thanks for bringing this to our attention. We are closely monitoring this new program's performance and effectiveness. If you believe that there has been a violation of the covenant for the Linden Homes Commercial regions, please take the time to file an abuse report for the issue and include as much specific information as you can.
The purpose of Linden Homes Commercial is to provide an opportunity for Premium Plus Residents of Second Life to quickly own a business and belong to a community of businesses. The covenant information has more complete information about using your store parcel. You may find the covenant in the About Land panel under the Covenant tab.
We are planning to release additional regions in this program periodically, and understand that demand may frequently be higher than available supply. We apologize for any inconvenience you may be facing due to the limited availability of these parcels.
We understand that this new program has experienced some technical difficulties, which may have hampered parcel availability and the opening of the commercial regions. This is a very new venture for us, and some bugs are to be expected.
Additionally, we will communicate when changes to Linden Home Commercial areas may be applied to any issues that arise.
Please continue to provide your feedback about Linden Home Commercial properties. As this is a new program, we absolutely do want your feedback, so that we may improve.
