Greetings! The ski lifts in Voss, Wengen, and Valmorel are now in operable condition, and even a couple of the skiing rezzers have been re-added to the area. Hit the slopes!

I am speculating, but if the old one was using keyframed motion to travel that could have been its undoing due to region border crossing. Admittedly it has been a while since I used KFM (because its caveats are... too much) but when I did, I found that if an avatar was sitting on the object the crossing was fine, but with no sitter the object could randomly just vanish on the border. No lost & found, no 'off world', just gone.

Perhaps an alternate plan is to have a shorter lift from the bottom, to a part-way station before the border crossing. You get off and walk across the border, then take another lift to continue up the mountain.

This would be similar to a real-world mountain, as they often split the route up to avoid excessively long cables.

It is quite definitely the SL Winter Season, we need the lifts :) Teleporting is clever, but actually quite a boring way to travel.

Yes, it is the same since years, There are rezzing areas, but parts of the cables are completely missing at one side, and even at the other has missing parts.

These have been broken for at least 10 years. It's a shame. I've sent a "chairlift" pod up one of them, which if you wait up to half an hour you can catch as it passes the bottom station; at least that provides something of a service!

Or you can try the chairs in Chamonix city. I think they still work.

There's a similar issue in the Snowlands of the old Teen grid (around Cascade). That's a copy of the Wengen area anyway, so I guess they copied the failed chairlift.

Hum, I have used the ski lift within the last year, so it hasn't been gone that long, I don't think.
