We have an extremely large number of empty houseboats in Bellisseria. I was thinking how nice it would be to have a bunch of those converted into yacht moors for premium and premium plus members. The houseboats could be easily removed, leaving only the docks in place. And resident could moor their own yachts in the spaces, yacht club style. The parcel ToS can be updated to ensure people don't put houses out. And truthfully, the prim count for those spots could be increased by whatever the land impact of the removed houseboats was. There are a LOT of yacht owners in SL with no place to park their yachts. This would give new life to those regions as an entirely different type of 'home' with minimal change and effort. Please consider this.

Another way of phrasing this request, as stated, is "turn houseboat parcels into rez zones with no auto return". Because there is no ownership of the parcel, you could rez your boat but might be reluctant to go sailing because someone could immediately swoop in and take your spot. So is this simply a suggestion to have resident-provided boat decor. That could be a disaster... who and what army is going to police an amended TOS for boats. Also there is the gaming aspect... undoubtedly, someone will claim many choice spots and attempt to sell them. I encourage LL to find ways to recycle Linden Home parcels in ways that generate revenue. This request does not do that and is problematic. I say, DOA.

While I'm looking, 2900 Chalets, 2900 Log homes, 2200 Fantasy Homes, 2000 Traditionals, 1000 Victorians.
Stilt homes and the new themes--ranch, mediterranean, ridgewood, copperfield, thousand island... 0-3 available.
I think LL needs to start developing a plan for how this is supposed to work. Linden Homes are undeniably popular, but also... people only want "New ones" ( or "stilts on water") according to the data.
Over 14000 empty homes, with an ever-expanding set of new homes and new themes. Premium members are carrying the increasing cost of all these places they objectively no longer want. And yet, I wouldn't advocate for the lab to kick residents out of an older themed home they love simply because the majority went to a new theme.
So... yea! Let's see some kind of plan to re-invest these made regions! Long-vacated house plot? Make it a public land~ Empty LH region? Auction off the plots or remove the homes and make a land/sea passage with less upkeep cost...
Longer-term? These "shops for Premium Members" seem popular. There's 0 available right now. When one becomes available, it's grabbed in seconds. How about fitting some shops into the abandoned places? Revitalize, drive people back to the places? Floating boat-shop? Raft-store? Marina/wharf shopping center? LL made the themes, come back in and have a plan for them please, or we're gonna wind up at unbounded costs for unused land.

Journey Bunny Whenever I've looked for a house I've kept going until I could get one by a large expanse of water. I think many people would wish for the same so I applaud the idea of transforming empty regions into mostly water. I think it would encourage people to try again for the older regions and stay.

As there is no way I have found for me to amend that request, I'd like to open this one as a follow up and say that I can see how there could be serious issues with open slips inviting people who don't care to follow the rules to rez any manner of hideous thing in the space and leave the entire place looking like a bad mainland area. So, I would like to propose another idea: Mole-built yachts.
Mole-built yachts could be placed in those empty houseboat slips in a rezzer just like the houseboats and other homes, with several designs available. It would still give new life to the regions that are currently underused and be very much a yacht club style space. If my original idea was not feasible, please consider this one.

The problem I see is putting Linden Labs in competition with private marinas. Just based on my personal observations in my travels on my boat, and looking around my own marina, I see plenty of boat slips available for reasonable prices. I vote no (as if I had a vote. lol.)
