Isn't that going to potentially break tons of scripts, since most scripts will assume that sensordata is only going to be capped at 16 entries, which will suddenly be 32? It might stack-heap "very well optimized" scripts that are currently set up to never hit their memory bounds just barely.

I completely agree that this could potentially put many scripts that use llSensor or llSensorRepeat into a stack-heap situation.
However, I also have to say that things change over time and it is simply necessary to update your scripts and products. This is not only the case in real life, but also here.
So far, the Lindens have always been very cautious and have never been willing to break any of the content that exists. However, Secondlife is evolving and there are great new LSL features that make things faster and easier. So let's get the market moving!
