Region handoff has been terrible around the Blake Sea and other water sims for weeks

There has been consistent chatter about this in various aviation/driving groups for weeks. Full regions don't have this issue.

Finally seems improved tonight, but this has been awful this week. Most of my fun here is sailing, and I could barely cross two or three regions before crashing on the blake.

Second Life is struggling from a lack of gameplay features as is and being able to drive/fly around is one of the very few features that people would consider "gameplay" so sim crossings should be fixed sooner rather than later.

I think it is actually worse now since the restarts. I can hardly make it one or two sims.

Unfortunately, I have to admit that traveling around Blake Sea in a vehicle is still ZERO fun at all. Please make it the way it used to be. (

"They're working on sim borders actually" someone said - hope with a lot of WD-40 so it glides smoothly again....

Definitely not back to normal. I have had some of the worst flying around the Gulf tonight. The characteristics are all the same as they were a few days ago. You just dont make it to the next region.

Maestro Linden, I just had about one hour of boating at various speeds from 20 to 60 knots in Blake Sea after the RC rolling restart with only one bad crossing so things seem to be back to normal.

Still total garbage for me, even some handoffs between full regions will fail. So it seems like it's actually getting worse.

I said in the OP that full regions don't have this issue, but I'm seeing weird behavior even in them. They are orders of magnitude more reliable, but there's still cases where you'll fly across a sim and the one directly across will not load even if you loiter for 10+ seconds. There are cases where handoffs will fail unrecoverably even between two full regions, and I've had point-to-point teleports (no vehicle) fail as well. That almost never happened before.
Whether this is due to a regression or cost-cutting measures, it's adversely impacting the user experience enough that a 2-day-old issue already has over 30 votes. I'm told that the Aeropunk Sky Priates Coalition (a group I'm in) was featured in an ad for SL recently... this performance degradation has basically wrecked our operations. I'm also hearing that SL Coast Guard is suspending patrols. Boats are said to have a somewhat easier time, but even they are getting caught up in this.
My sim crossing logic that I wrote for conditions circa 2010 help somewhat (turn off physics for all crossings) but even then, the handoff will still fail frequently in the Blake Sea, so conditions today are substantially worse than they were 16 years ago. That's how bad this is.
I don't know if LL would consider this a P0 issue, but it's at least a P1. It severely degrades major use cases. This problem needs resources on it, and it needs to not be disrupted by anything. I would go so far as to say that if LL's processes would slow down the fix, then an exception should be made.

Getting thrown out of my boats into sim corners randomly when crossing regions nowhere near corners. It's getting ridiculous, the Blake Sea and other areas like The Sea Of Fables (Sansara) are becoming unsailable.

I will add myself to the voters here, its not possible to fly airplanes in SL now- the controls are disappearing and I am thrown out of my plane and must crawl around on the bottom of Blake sea, its not even possible to avatarfly unless I relog..

I lose my controls and cant even avatarfly unless I relog
