Category for reviews used as feature requests
Bark Growl
"Product is great! Love it! 3 stars only for now until you fit it for x body."
"This is amazing! No x head fit though so 1 star :/"
"Will add 5 stars when HUD has this niche complex script added to it."
Please. Allow us creators to report reviews that are used as REQUEST forms for extra features. I don't feel like reuploading my entire 2$ product just to fit this obscure body that was specifically not listed on the product description.
All of this can be resolved with a separate review report category dedicated to this issue.

Would that not fit "Off Topic" and "Inappropriate Review" as categories? It worked when I got a one star because I didn't fit for the Star body. I had never heard of it, flagged it as off topic and they removed it.

To some extent, this is just the general public being the general public. Go look at some of the dumber Amazon reviews some time. "wonderful product, delivery driver was imperfect, one star".
If anything, the Lab (and maybe the sellers) should be encouraging people to leave reviews. Perhaps not with blatant spam, but ya know, a gentle nudge so that dumb reviews like that are watered down, may be a help.
(that and properly integrating Caspervend with MP so you don't need a bot or twiddling with APIs to leave a review if you bought the item in world, perhaps)

Toothless Draegonne There's sadly very little incentive for customers to leave a positive review, nor are there many tools like on Amazon to remind customers about things they've bought to suggest leaving a review of their experience. Which makes the impact of even just 1 negative review for -any- reason all the more impactful on sales as people rarely dig into the nitty gritty of the reviews. If they see 2 competing products and one of them has 5 stars while the other has 1, it's often as deep as the exchange goes and you lose a sale.
It would be nice if LL added 1st party tools to do this instead of forcing creators to implement bespoke or 3rd party tool systems that rely on inworld scripted objects to that end and cannot be used directly on the marketplace, which i remind you is a privilege we pay a 10% sales commission to use...

I agree to also add a chat dedicated to the marketplace, too many times I have ended up with bad reviews blackmailers whose sole purpose was the reimbursement for a dress that had no defects

Another thing with reviews - Blocked users who have purchased items in the past can still review items as well. So if you blocked someone, they still have a way to harass you.

Yes please, this is the most common form of negative review i get on my products when nothing's inherantly wrong with them..

"user used review to request features" - to clarify, not for users who encourage creators to make more by giving good reviews and leaving a note as a footer. It's specific to the 1 star reviews that fail to see that a product is fit for x and x only.

In addition to this I think a "review used as bug report" category for reporting is needed as well. This has happened to me before and it's extremely annoying as I don't check reviews often.

4 star reviews with suggestions on something small creators can add to make it 5 star are fine, but it should definitely not be allowed to buy something and give it a 1 star review because they want it to fit on an entirely different body or just want an completely different product from the one they just bought.
Kristiana Spitteler
chesse Vyceratops knocking down even a single star and/or holding it hostage for 'suggestions' shouldn't even be a thing period. That is abuse of the review system and is not fair to the creators. There was nothing 'wrong' with the product, all the features and what it includes are typically listed. If you want to make a suggestion to a creator, IM them, send a notecard, or see if they have a discord with a suggestions thread.
