Hello,
It is now possible to make international wire transfers directly from our Second Life account, for residents of certain countries (USA, Turkey, United Kingdom, France, Lithuania, Germany), and more countries will be added soon.
Unfortunately, it seems impossible to calculate or anticipate the exact amount that will be deposited into our bank account, especially for non-US residents, as international payments involve multiple fees at different levels. Some of these fees are fixed, while others are variable, etc.
I suggest that Linden Lab / Tilia publish general documentation explaining what these fees are. What exactly are the 5% fees? Is this amount fully retained by Linden Lab / Tilia, or is part of it used to cover currency conversion and international wire transfer costs?
I understand that it may not be possible to publish exhaustive documentation, as fees also depend on the recipient banks. However, general information seems essential. So far, from discussions with other content creators, it appears everyone is operating blindly: we enter an amount to transfer, wait patiently for the result, and then try to make sense of the calculations with the few details we have.
Please provide us with much more clarity regarding the fees involved in international wire transfers.
