[Discord] #showoff Commercial Spam

The #showoff forum is getting a lot commercial spam aimed at a general resident audience even though this channel is only accessible for those who opted into the content creator role and within the creators section is surely meant for creators to show off to other creators and talk about their creations/projects and work in progress -- not as a commercial advertising outlet to spam their marketplace links.
Discord forums support setting up posting guidelines.
Please empty it out and rename/recreate the channel to something else that would be more content creation focused sounding. (#projects, #work-in-progress, ...?)
Of course add posting guidelines that prohibit commercial spam and ban any marketplace links in the forums.
At least banning marketplace links, as well as any attempts at circumventing the ban (such as instructions or guidance towards product on marketplace or embedding the link in a product photo), and moderation reinforcement of that would at least quickly filter out most of the spam.

My understanding of what this channel is for:
- Showing off something you recentlymade and are particularly proud of
- Optionally, a link to see it in-world or marketplace listing IFit free (I.E. not really an advertisement, just a way for people to get a better look at it)
What it isn't for:
- Every product ever made
- Sales
- Gifts
- Older products
This channel has gone unmoderated for so long, I just muted it because I'm tired of seeing ads, I want to see people innovate (be it bettering their talents or making something unique in SL using new tech).
For example, I was particularly proud of my soy sauce bottle, because it was my first time making something serious with PBR. I included a link to the MP listing (which was free) so people can get a better look at it because I don't have a place to keep it rezzed out, and MP is easiest way to distribute stuff instead of making people go to my site and enter their SL name.
The problem is people took #showoff as a chance to advertise everything they make. There's even a couple of people who have joined and solely post in that channel.
Maybe a channel to blackhole all the spam advertisements that is default muted, or pin a message in #showoff saying it isn't for ads, it's for showing off creations you are particularly proud of.
I like the concept of the discord server for the community to get together, but having to ping moderators every time there is a violation instead of moderators moderating is kinda setting a tone of "It isn't watched / moderated".

Ifrit pointed out that the discord has a rule against advertising, only permitting it within select channels and not being excessive about it.
The rule does not include the #showoff channel within the permit, so this is already an issue of a lack of enforcement of the rules.

Alternatively, there can be a dedicated place for product advertising posts created, I'm not against them but they simply do not belong in-between a bunch of content creation topics.
I leave it up to the SL discord moderation/management team to figure out how they want to approach it.

yeh I think it needs a place to exist, else it will just encroach in other places regardless.
But I agree it would be good outside of content creation discussion.
