Multiple marketplace stores in one account

Being able to have more than one store in the same account would be very convenient. For example, I do general scripting and game stuff on one hand, and stuff for a specific avatar on the other. These are very different product types, and it'd make sense to separate them into their own stores. While I could create an alt to have a second store, being able to manage it all from the same account would be preferable.
Features like reports and sales information could keep showing the same information they do now, if necessary. While it'd be nice to have separate reports for each store instead of just one report with all your products, that seems less important than the ability to create separate stores in the first place.

Are we really asking for creation of a new type of SL account called "Business?" It wouldnt even be under an avatar; this is a RL-human-based account for the purpose of owning stores in the MP. Certainly it would be required that said human also have an inworld avatar account, but this really happens outside.
(Ever visit the Anshe Chung Website? http://anshechung.com/ is the front end of a vast network of businesses spread across multiple virtual worlds. What's being discussed in this thread is having multiple SL businesses all under the Marketplace umbrella.)
Doing a Website of your own is another way to go about it. I have only one business but my Website gives me total control of content and organization. It could easily accommodate more businesses.

This is really THE feature i've expected the most, as a seller. i sell both PG items and adult items. It makes little sense to have so different items in one same store.
And i don't want to use 2 avatars. The main reason is that i am online about 12 hours / day with my avatar, and the customers love when they get a reply on the spot when they report a problem. I don't want to be logged with 2 different avatars all the time.

Multiple stores could be handled with the current system of MP listings. Instead of one long list of our MP listings there could be top level system folders for each store under a single alt, all of the items stored inside those system folders would appear in their respective stores. Departments, same thing, upper level system folders one per department under a store, with the contents automatically populating out under store and department. There could, of course, be limits to how many stores/departments could be created. That would be reasonable so that people do not go overboard.
In the marketplace if someone clicks your name to see your profile the page could show the different stores and their respective departments and the user to click the links to drill down into what they want.

I would love this feature so much if it were implemented. It would enable creators to make new things in a way that improves the customer's experience, by organizing their products in different shops, instead of having a single shop with all sorts of random items, which just makes it harder for shoppers to find what they need. For instance: one shop for clothes, one shop for furniture, one shop for hairstyles.
I really hope they give us this option someday.

We have been asking for this feature for years now. The oldest forum post I am aware of is from January 2020 (https://community.secondlife.com/forums/topic/448241-multiple-marketplace-stores3), but I believe it was requested many times via the old Jira system for years before that. With the state of the Marketplace nowadays, we had better pray it will work properly than expect some more significant changes than text fonts. The problem is that Linden Lab is trying to 'improve' something they obviously don't understand, and more often than not, they are deaf to any constructive suggestions and reasoning.
As much as I would love to see the multi-store on one account feature, my hopes are close to none.

Woolfyy Resident What you are talking about are individual organizational abilities and resource management skills, and it is not up to anyone, not even LL, to determine how or if we should manage multi-themed businesses. What we are asking for is the ability to run multiple shops on the Marketplace, just as some of us already do in-world.

Woolfyy Resident I'm not really sure how you found a connection between our request for multiple storefronts on the Marketplace and real-life taxes, money laundering, and irresponsible taxpayers. None of those issues have anything to do with what we have been asking for over many years.
I've been a SL merchant for 14+ years, and having a secondary shop on an alt is not the best choice for me. Obviously, many people share this opinion. I respect if you do not share this view, but I fail to see how your arguments are relevant to our request.
I believe we have both expressed our views clearly, and it's best to leave it at that.

Issue tracked. We have no estimate when it may be implemented. Please see future updates here.

Maybe a way to have one store organized into "Departments" would do some of that job? You would create your Departments (Scripts, Av Items) then you would enter that in a field in the Edit Item screen. The shopper could select "Departments" from the drop-down (along with Relevance, Price Low-High, etc.).
(Because this isn't possible now, I built a whole Website so I can separate my items into what I call Collections. But having it in MP would be a whole lot easier!)

Dana Enyo I want to be able to open separate shops, with separate names, branding and price points. Different "departments" should still reflect the overall vibe of the shop they belong to, whereas different shops can reflect completely different tastes. As it is, one shop with a huge glut of different items reflecting all kinds of disparate merchandise can make browsing a strange and uncomfortable experience. If a third of the listings are alien-themed, a third are cottage core and a third are things that just don't seem to fit anywhere, it all clashes and competes for attention. OTOH, one shop filled with alien themed items, another for the cottage core crowd, and a third for bazarre, oddball items makes shopping all three more pleasant and each shop makes buyers feel more spendy.

DragonLady Merlin Ah, got it. Yes, that would really be different.

Dana Enyo I would like both. I would like to manage multiple stores with my avatar, and for each store i would like to be able to set up different categories/departments.
