Issue with recent changes and scaing
hi, I raised this as a support ticket initially. It was investigated by Oatmeal Linden who advised me to log a bug. URL to ticket: https://lindenlab.freshdesk.com/support/tickets/2224523 Full ticket contents, if it helps - but Oatmeal added pics to the ticket which are useful: ecently I noticed there is a quite a large height discrepancy. My height was always consistent over my Edit Shape display height and a HUD I used to check height. Now, the HUD says what it always did, but now Edit Shape is way shorter! On top of that, I made a box which adds a 3rd value for height! I understand the HUD is not LL so we can discard it, but the box and the Edit Shape height should surely match as they are LL and they are in the same world. Or should be at least close to each other! See this pic for the differences! https://prnt.sc/RMkRV9McxEou In case you dont want to click a link: HUD: 1.61m Box: 1.559m or 1.56m round up Edit Shape: 1.48m This is quite a big difference. Please can you help / explain? Its worrying its apparently made my avatar super short @ 1.48m. My RL height is 1.62 and this is what I want in SL, how can I do this with so much variability? Will my new height of 1.48 make people think im a child?! With the new ToS I do not want this, but I also dont want to be a giant unnecessarily. Thanks! Angel Dakota said 8 days ago Also how will this affect our land? 64x64 is no longer 64x64..if the avatar and boxes match, which they should! # Oatmeal Linden said 13 hours ago Hello, Angel Dakota: Thank you for contacting support and for your patience! I am not certain how the avatar height is determined by your shape. I performed my tests with a couple of different avatars: one using a deformer to stretch the base shape's neck, and a human female and human male shape. For the box I used, I simply typed in the value for "z" to match the information from the shape editor panel. All tests displayed the discrepancy you found. I also tested a 4m x 4m box on a 4m x 4m parcel cut. These shapes matched exactly, so it seems that your land size is the same.
